I know nothing about the wine list!

Let me be totally honest with you, I am a total dunce when it comes to wine; and I laugh at the number of times I have bluffed my way through a business lunch or simply nodded in approval when I’ve been lunching with a wine buff. To me, a glass of “plonk” tastes pretty similar to a glass of a very expensive wine.

It’s one of those things where I used to feel like I ought to know a little bit more about, but the difference between wines constantly escapes my interest or grasp… I now just openly admit I haven’t got a clue!

But what I’ve learnt from my lack of knowledge in those situations is that it’s much better to admit your lack of knowledge and that you need help with something.

Knowledge about wine is one thing, but knowledge about your finances is something a whole lot more serious, since your future depends on it.

One of my favourite quotes is from Madeleine Albright, Former US Secretary of State;

“There is a special place in hell for women who don’t help other women”

I meet a lot of very intelligent women who seem to have a mental block when it comes to finance and make a joke of it with a reply like “oh no, I don’t do maths”. Well, I can help them!

I work by first listening to your real life concerns or lack of understanding about money; then I explain in a down to earth totally jargon free way how you can make the most of your finances.

Please let me help you, and, as long as you choose it, I’ll even buy the wine to celebrate your more secure future.

The first step you need to take is contact me on mary@marywaring.co.uk. We will dicuss your concerns and the steps you need to take to provide clarity for your future.

There is no charge for this call and its in total confidence.

Help, how do I take control of my finances?

I had a meeting with a potential client last week who’d been following me on Twitter and as a result of my tweets had been motivated to get to grips with her finances. Hooray the message is getting through! The thing that confused her was “where to start?” If I was Julie Andrews I could…
