To answer the question “How much do I need from my settlement to lead the life I want to lead, and not run out of money?”

Your life doesn’t stand still after divorce. And of course, your plans will change. We don’t leave you on your own. We continue to provide whatever hand-holding you need…for as long as you need it.

The Preparation Service

This can cover whatever you need. Below are a few examples:

• Prepare the paperwork your solicitor requires

• Prepare your budget, both income and capital

• Advising you on both parties’ pensions and investments holdings

• Review and advice on existing endowments and protection policies

The “What do I need?” Service

• We’ll discuss the life you want after divorce, and what this will cost

• We will fully explain the financial implications of all options suggested by your lawyer

• Once you’ve received your divorce settlement we carry out the recommendations

• We will advise you how to protect your maintenance payment in the event of your ex-husband suffering death or illness

The “Hand-Holding” Service

Again, the exact service depends on what you want. Here are a few examples:

• Have regular meetings to discuss any concerns about your finances

•  Advise on tax issues – income tax, capital gains tax and inheritance tax

• Ensure you update your will and Power of Attorney

• Provide a regular ‘reality check’ to ensure that you stay on track to achieve your aspirations and dreams

• Act as a “second opinion” for any financial matter that worry you
